Easy Rider II, Day 42, May 3, 2022

Marshall heading out on his own

Dave and I said adios to Marshall, Casey and Erin, as our travel plans for the rest of the week move at different paces.

Marshall, Casey and Erin are putting the pedal to the metal in an effort to get to New Orleans the day before we do to meet spouses and friends.

Dave doesn’t have an affordable place to stay until the day after. So I agreed to accompany him.

Like the others, Dave is planning to visit with friends in New Orleans for a couple of days thereafter. Then he and Marshall are planning to continue riding together to Florida.

I am planning to ride far enough through New Orleans to get a reasonably priced hotel on the other side of town.

Then I am going to hotfoot it to the Florida coast.

Today’s ride was mostly through agricultural areas along the Atchafalaya River.

A huge, privately owned levee blocked the river view, unfortunately.

We had several more dog attacks today, keeping things interesting.

Hopefully dogs will be less of a concern over the next couple of days as we pedal into the Baton Rouge/New Orleans metro areas.
