Homecoming 2021, Day 2, 24 miles to Bayview State Park; TM: 87

Just 24 miles for me today from Bellingham WA to Bay View State Park, but a minor bout of Montezuma’s Revenge said “enough” when I arrived at the park around 2 pm.

The weather today again was absolutely gorgeous, as were the views of Samish and Padilla bays through the hilly rainforest on Chuckanut Drive.

Interesting tidbit: The ranger told me that very few cyclists have been taking advantage of the hiker-biker sites at Bayview this year.

But a deer browsed the greens growing in my campsite and bedded down on the tent platform in the adjoining site.

A pesky raccoon also challenged my patience that evening but didn’t get any of my food, which I stored in my tent.
